Spectral Analysis: Interview with Rob Bridgett

November 27, 2012 by Jack Menhorn

Special thanks to Brad Dyck for submitting this wonderful interview with Rob Bridgett to DesigningSound! GDC RB: It’s funny, see the bags of coffee up there? That’s Sightglass coffee. It’s an incredible coffee shop in San Francisco. It’s funny because that’s where I met Damian (Kastbauer) at GDC this year. It was early, I was a little hung over and saw he tweeted about … [Read more...]

We know a lot about the story of microphones, loudspeakers, and optical, magnetic, or digital recording processes. Very little has been said about the aesthetic history: Why do sound people do what we do? … [Read more...]

The Sound FX Trampoline by Blastwave FX

October 20, 2009 by Miguel Isaza

Blastwave FX presented The Sound FX Trampoline, at this year's AES convention in New York, NY. So funny! Jumping on the trampoline triggers sounds from Blastwave FX high definition sound effects libraries. The higher you jump, the lower the pitch, and if you jump over twenty-five times a delay kicks in. This video shows a few brave jumpers. You can hear the sounds of a colobus … [Read more...]
