Thanks to our December Contributors

December 31, 2012 by Shaun Farley

It’s been a great month here on Designing Sound! We took a gamble in November with the new monthly features format, and it’s been paying off in spectacular fashion. This site would not be so special without the support and contributions of the community it serves. A hearty round of thanks goes out to this month’s guests:

  • Ian Palmer, for his examination of just a few of the many applications of reverb
  • Eliazbeth McClanahan, for giving us a litte bit of historical perspective
  • Anish Chandak, for keeping us abreast of developments in computer-based sound propagation
  • Nicolas Becker, for sharing his thoughts in “Behind the Art”
  • Douglas Murray, for exploring how to really “sell” that reverb once it’s been brought into the mix
  • Michael  Theiler, for digging into the nitty gritty of fitting individual sounds into an ambience
  • Cormac Donnelly, for experimenting with some real-world reverberation

Tomorrow begins plug-in month. That’s a little vague, I know, but the full description of how and what we’ll be exploring is on its way. If you have something you’d like to contribute, don’t hesitate to get in touch. As you may have noticed, guest contributors are in good company!

Thank you to all the contributors, and everyone involved in this site. There are few sound designers and enthusiasts that I know that do not frequent these pages. Please keep up the flow of information and insight, we really do appreciate all the hard work.
