UPDATE (9/12/18): It has been brought to our attention that the civil case brought by Ms. Lewis against Mr. Wilson and Internatioanl Fitness, LLC (Case No. BC645841, click here and use that number to access the court records) was dismissed in September of 2017. Dismissed merely means the case has run its course. It should be noted that this was a civil case; NOT a criminal case. We have not purchased the court records to examine the full judgment, but do know that a judgment was filed in Ms. Lewis’ favor against Fitness International, LLC (aka LA Fitness).
So here’s a story I didn’t expect to pop up again. Many of you may remember the man picture above. Good ol’ Brice Carrington. If you don’t know the story behind this, maybe go check out this little run down.
Well, allegedly, he’s at it again. Jenifer Lewis, an actress in Los Angeles, California, has just announce that she’s filed a lawsuit against Tony Wilson (aka Brice Carrington, according to her). This is what she posted to her Facebook page, just an hour ago:
Statement Regarding Lawsuit
Lewis v Wilson, et al,
Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. BC645841
On September 11, 2015, only hours before my mother passed away, I learned that the man I planned to build a life with was a convicted felon and con artist whose criminal career spans more than 25 years, with a special skill in swindling women. This man, whose name is Tony Wilson, had been sentenced in 2010 to four years in federal prison for conning investors out of $4 million and was currently out on parole. I learned also that his name wasn’t Tony Wilson—it was Brice Carrington.By searching online, I learned that Tony Wilson is a convicted felon and con artist. By searching online, I learned that Wilson, as Brice Carrington, had falsely claimed to be a three-time “Oscar winner” in sound design and had paid a jeweler to create fake Academy Award Oscar statues to lure unsuspecting investors for his sound effects business. By searching online, I learned that Tony Wilson’s current alias—Dr. Antonio M. Wilson, an Oxford-educated Ph.D. in Theology who lectures at UCLA, and who is a self-published author of religious books and a former Navy SEAL—was concocted while Wilson was incarcerated in federal prison.
Unfortunately, I learned the truth about Tony Wilson only after he conned me into investing more than $50,000 into the exact same sound effects business for which he had plead guilty, for which he had served time, and for which he was currently on parole.
Tony Wilson, an LA Fitness Club Manager, introduced himself to me while I was working out at LA Fitness. What began as a professional relationship became a personal one. When I learned the truth about Tony Wilson, I immediately notified LA Fitness. The purpose of notifying LA Fitness was to urge LA Fitness to take action to protect its members, especially its women members. Instead of LA Fitness protecting its members, LA Fitness protected Tony Wilson. LA Fitness protected Tony Wilson by telling me that I should stop accusing its Club Manager of being “a fraud and a con artist.” LA Fitness protected Tony Wilson by “advising” me to stop going to the LA Fitness location where I worked out because Tony Wilson was the Club Manager.
Ironically, LA Fitness protected Tony Wilson by providing him with an email confirming that LA Fitness was notified that Tony Wilson was “a fraud and a con artist.” Tony Wilson then used the email provided by LA Fitness as evidence against me in court. The LA Fitness email allowed Tony Wilson to allege that I had “wrongfully attempted” to have him fired from his job at LA Fitness by bringing to LA Fitness’ attention that he was “a fraud and a con artist,” which, in fact, he was—and is.
That was in October 2015, more than 15 months ago. As I testified in court, “It was like my soul was shattered.” Since then, I have had to pick myself up, put myself back into therapy and take good care of myself. I am of course still mourning my mother and doing my best to trust again.
I have worked hard and now feel emotionally capable to take the final step in my healing, which is to protect others.
Therefore, I have brought suit against Tony Wilson and LA Fitness, given that LA Fitness has continued to protect Tony Wilson and has continued to place him in a position to prey on LA Fitness’ members, especially its women members, as Tony Wilson is still—TO THIS DAY—gainfully employed by LA Fitness.

You gave $50,000 to an ‘Oxford-educated Ph.D. in Theology who lectures at UCLA, and who is a self-published author of religious books and a former Navy SEAL’, but somehow works at LA Fitness currently as a Club Manager? Interesting.
Reya says
You took the words right outta my head. All of these supposed accolades and degrees, yet he is employed at a discount fitness club? Sometimes women purposely overlook the glaring just to have a “man”. She works in Hollywood, she couldnt get references for this guy. This speaks if desperation.

I would be cautious to blame the victim so easily. There are numerous factors we will never know about. Ms. Lewis is the one out $50,000, which I am sure is more than enough punishment for any lapse in judgment that has been made.

Really?
How hard is it to check IMDB or the academy website to verify an oscar win?
Not very hard.

I dated Tony Willson who changed his name to Brice Carrington back in the 90’s. He had a dog named Phararoh. We met in Atlanta during the 96 Olympic Games. I lived in Atlanta, he lived in Phoenix. We drove across country from Los Angeles to Atlanta in a $400,000. Mercedes. At that time he was a former “Dallas Cowboy” and yes had the paraphernalia to prove it as well as his guest appearances on numerous TV shows. I got away from him when I saw his new social security card, credit cards and birth certificate in the name of Brice Carrington. He wanted me to introduce him to my contacts in Atlanta. OMG, I wondered what had happened to this guy! I think the only thing that rings consistent is his sound company. OMG, OMG OMG
Ashamed! says
Lol I dated “Brice” in 90s-2000s…. I was shown the fake awards and yes, rode around in the fancy cars…. The guy was pretty convincing but had I met him at a gym I probably would have saw through his BS. Poor Jenifer!

This guy lived in Dallas and was married to an attorney I the late 80s. He claimed to be a former professional football player, from Miami I believe – turned entrepreneur. He scammed me out of $5k for a government publishing program. I see he is still at it. He is a very smooth talker, very convincing. I hope he finally ends up in the slammer.

He’s already been convicted and in jail at least once. Just got out back at the end of 2013.

It seems like there are con men everywhere, just met one recently in the bay area, I won’t give out any names, but this guy been scamming, conning since the 70’s, wouldn’t have never know until my gut feeling say, Google him. Wow, and I thought I was always ahead of spotting fake, scammers, con men

Wow that is a nightmare!!!! I feel for women across the globe & some men who’ve fell to being a prey. A con artist knows their craft well UNTIL the victim becomes aware. I dated a man who was a gigalo & I allowed myself to get caught up in his being…..I mean I was giving him 1/2 my paycheck, buying him expensive shoes & clothes, even paid his mortgage a few times, I later found out that he had a herium of women doing the same things for him that I was & I was SICK emotionally. I found myself doing white collar crimes to keep up with his lavish lifestyle which costed me my freedom for 2 years & AWAY from my kid. Of course he didn’t support me at all, he left me out to dry…..he wrote me twice in 2 years with all lies & bullshit. This caused so much damage to my spirit & it took years for me to release the bitterness that I allowed to consume me. I’ve a been a Jennifer Lewis fan, I’m so sorry that you had to endure that & to the rest of the ladies who’ve encountered him. Be careful out there ladies & a few of gents. Guard your heart & go with that GUT feeling because it never lies!!!!!

This guy is a really really good con artist. He preyed on really nice people and was careful whom he targeted. He studied his targets for sympathies he could exploit. Yea it was not random. He went to great lengths and investment to create evidence surrounding his fake stories. Most people whom have never been conned can be exploited if targeted systematically this way. It happens all the time on smaller investments like tires and vitamins and beauty products. We are sold a pile of untrue facts. And checking out the facts is not easy unless you hire a PI or verify with a subject matter expert. Most of us don’t do that as a norm. So this sort of con could happen to anyone. My sympathy to his victems. I hope he get more jail time. We now know LA Fitness doesn’t background check their new hires. Assume they have real creeps working for them.
