Designing Sound Discussion Group – Acoustics Primer

July 5, 2013 by Shaun Farley

We’ve got our next webinar/live presentation scheduled, and it will take place on Saturday, July 20th, at 1PM Eastern/10 AM Pacific (U.S. time). Our presenter this time will be Dennis Foley, of Acoustic Fields. He’ll actually be doing two presentations for us here on the site.

The first, as noted in the title of the post above, will be an acoustics primer to help us better understand what’s happening in our rooms. The second, which will be scheduled for August, will be specifically about how to treat your room using commercially available acoustic absorption and diffusion materials. [I’m very much looking forward to that second one, as the room I work out of at home could definitely benefit from some better informed treatment.] The Acoustics Primer presentation is meant to prepare you for Room Treatment presentation. As such, I highly recommend you check out this month’s presentation. ;)

As always, the webinars hosted through Designing Sound are completely free. This will also be recorded for those of you who can’t make it at the scheduled time. You can register for the Acoustics Primer webinar here.

I can’t wait for this. I’ve followed Dennis and Mike’s blog for a long time and their insights on room acoustics have been game changing for the studios I work in. They are ahead of the game in every respect and make the big boys in the market look like neglectful neanderthals!
