[During this month, I’ve been doing weekly reports about “Secrets for Great Film Sound“, a new webinar series hosted by David Sonnenschein and Ric Viers]
The last week we finished the webinar series, discussing a lot of things regarding the final mix
Ric started giving a lot of advices and overall overview of mixing. He talked about how to focus the audience with the mix and also stems workflow, how to find balance in the mix, dealing with processors, and more. All his examples, anecdotes and advices were really useful for me.
Then the turn was for David, who talked more about the aesthetics and different choices to do in the final mix. That includes some fantastic theories and examples on things like the subjective choices in the mix, how to deal with different processes in order to achieve things like contrast, isolation, habituation of the audience, etc. David is really good on that.
The rest of the webinar was dedicated to answer a lot of questions from the attendees and also to analyze the work on several of them. Casually, there were two videos from this month’ competition with Waves. Lots of great stuff.
Well, that was the end of another great webinar series. I’d like to thank David and Ric for their great job and lots of good advices and theories. I look forward to next series and classes.
