SAG-AFTRA Announces Interactive Strike On Video Game Companies

October 17, 2016 by Michael Klier

SAG-AFTRA, an US labor union representing approximately 160,000 members working in the media industry has announced a strike, starting Friday 21st of October, on some of the worlds biggest Video Game Companies, including Activision, Disney Character Voices, Electronic Arts & Take 2 Interactive.

Despite years of concerted effort and negotiating sessions, video game employers have steadfastly refused to reach a fair deal during our contract negotiations.

We head back to the table Oct. 17-19 with the goal of creating a fair contract that is rooted in industry standards and best practices. Based on past experience, we are not confident management is willing to make the changes necessary to bring this contract up to the standards of our other agreements.

SAG-AFTRA additionally released a strike bulletin listing the reasons that have lead to this decision.
