Shaun, the coasts only account half the sound works 25% each. middle America makes up the other half. there are a ton of other convention centers that are better then Moscone as well. Moscone is actually one of the worst places i have worked. Usually associations sign long contracts to get lower costs. Moscone is one of most costly convention centers to have a show at. besides AES international shows the last time i remember it being somewhere else was LA in 2003!

In reply to myke. They go back and forth from coast to coast each year, in the attempt to make it more convenient for one half of the community or another. They also try to take foreign travelers, availability of public transportation, etc. into account. There aren't a lot of places in the U.S. that fit the bill properly. They are holding it in LA again for the first time in a long while.

Does anyone AES sign some dumb contract that locks them into NY and SF in the US? it always bugs me that conferences are rarely held anywhere else in the US
