Launching today (August 19), A Sound Effect is a brand new website dedicated to cataloguing independent SFX library releases.
Created by Asbjoern Andersen of Epic Sound in Denmark, the main objective of the site is to add value to independent sfx libraries, by making them more accessible for the end-user. Andersen explains that visitors to www.asoundeffect.com can, “browse the catalogue of indie sfx libraries, preview the libraries and search for sounds… “, making it a one-stop shop for all enthusiasts. SFX libraries featured on the site are divided into 10 categories (‘Environments’, ‘Human’ and ‘Whooshes’, etc.) and each library has all the at-a-glance info you need; price, format, number of files and size. There is also a simple search box that is useful for pulling up general results quickly, and a section for users to add a review to each library.
