We got to sit down with Ren Klyce, Oscar-nominated sound designer (Social Network, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), to ask a few questions about the technical and creative sides of the sound design process for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
We learned how Klyce (pictured below) and his team created the soundscapes of freezing cold and blind terror for the film. Here’s how it went

A comment on the article:
All (swedish) exteriors where obviously shoot here in Sweden.
But reading the article I almost get the feeling that Mark Weingarten and Michael Primmer did the recording in Sweden as well.
That was not the case. The six weeks of shooting in Sweden was done by my colleague Bo Persson and his boomer Stefan Ljungberg on equipment provided by our company. And it actually feels a bit strange that they weren’t mentioned at all in the article.
