[During this month, I’ll be doing weekly reports about “Secret for Great Film Sound“, a new webinar series hosted by David Sonnenschein and Ric Viers.]
Last week’s webinar was very interesting. David talked about his methodology for enhancing story and emotion by using sound, and how to create a soundscape with good relationship with the dramatic content of the project. That includes explanations of theories such as Sonic Spheres, bipolar elements, and more. He also shared and expanded content from his previous webinar series, which was really great to hear.
One great thing about David and Ric is that they constantly use lots of examples, analogies and different ways to explain their concepts, which is fantastic and really helpful for me as an attendee. From slides, to sound examples, documents, videos, links, etc. It’s not just talking all the time! They give several resources that will definitely help in the future.
In the last session I also shared a video that I designed sound for. David and Ric gave me several opinions and great feedback about it. Also, the attendees always have interesting opinions and very helpful critics. It’s jut fantastic to have the opportunity to discuss your work with other people and hear their opinions. I hope I can send another one this month. It’s very constructive.
