Sonnenschein's Webinar Report: Week III – Rules Of the Brain Road

September 29, 2010 by Miguel Isaza

Today is the fourth webinar from the Sound Design for Pros webinar series of David Sonnenschein. I’m going to give you a little reprot about last week’s work.

The las webinar was really great. David started reviewing several of the homework sent for that class. Then he talked about brain, and how humans perceive sound and process it. He give us a lot of different techniques and approaches on how we can use those theories with our sound jobs.

Being a sound designer and also a neurobiology undergraduate at U.C. San Diego, David has a lot of amazing things to teach about psychoacoustics and related things, including topics such as sound sources/shadows, the auditory and visual pathways of human brain and the gestalt principles applied to sound design.

Today’s webinar is called Sonic Time-Space Continuum – Soundscapes and Sound Spheres. I’ll talk about it in the next week.
