Frederic Dubois is a french sound editor and sound designer, who recently worked on feature movies like “Igor”, “Transporter 3” and “From Paris with love”.
A few years ago Frederic founded “EFX” where he wanted to sell his own sounds effects on Cds. He began to record guns (something special and very rare in europe). It was in 1994 and the library was called “EFX GUNS vol I&II”. He contacted Hagai Gefen from Gefen Systems and they started to sell some Cds in Hollywood and all over the world.
Sound Ideas was very interested by these SFX and they made an agreement so a part of the collection was included in the “6000 EXT 1 series library”. In 2002, Frederic released a new library: “The Ultimate Weapon Library”, doing the same thing with Gefen Systems. Sound Ideas contacted him once more and a part of ” The Ultimate Weapon Library” is included in Sound Ideas “Guns Library”.
Now, Frederic is offering all that content as downloadable packs (15 different packs). The prices vary from 10 euros to 40 euro. Some packs contain only 20 sfx and other ones contains more than 300 sfx at 48kHz/24-Bit
The equipment used was:
- Fostex FR2
- EAA PSP2 preamplifier
- Nagra IVs with Bryston Dolby SR
- Neumann Microphones: RSM191 and KM140
- Beyer Microphones: M88
Frederic is planning also to enhance another library, called “The C.Library”. It’s a general french sfx library the He bought the rights 4 years ago. This library was created by famous french sound mixers (lots of them received international awards) during the late 70s up to the year 2004.
He is also in contact with Rob Nokes. Sounddogs sells a few SFX from “the C.library”. The C. Library will be sold as downloadable packs on www.efx-sound.com and as single sfx on www.sounddogs.com
