August’s Featured Sound Designer: Rob Nokes

Do you were wondering if we would have a new special for August? The answer is yes! For this month we have an amazing guest: the talented Rob Nokes. He will share with us a lot of interesting things on field recording, sound editing and more. Hope you enjoy it!

Bio

Rob nokes was born in Winnipeg, Canada. His career began in 1987 working for the local racetrack network. He then went to OIART (Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology) on a whim and by 1990 was in Toronto working at a studio called Masters Workshop. He then moved to Los Angeles where he co-founded the Online Sound Library Sounddogs.com

He’s Sound Supervisor for FOX’s TV show Bones, likes traveling all over the world searching for unique sounds (South America, Thailand, Cook Islands, Northern Europe and is planning a month’s trip to Anctartica). Now has built an ADR and recording studio in his home in Santa Monica.
