When Tim Prebble launched the first library of HISS and a ROAR, I was also looking forward to a similar project from Chuck Russom, who follows the same concept of Tim’s project: High Quality Sound Sources delivered on the Internet with an incredible affordable price.
Chuck started with Chuck Russom FX, releasing Metal FX, his firs sfx library loaded with 198 sounds of metals objects interacting with Dry Ice and cymbals played with a violin bow. I got the library the same day of the official launch, and I’ve been playing and tweaking the sounds, so I can share my opinion:
There’re lots of different metals, and lots of different ways to interact with them. Chuck has made a really good work on that. The library contains two folders: Dry Ice and Bowed Cymbal There you can find all the sound files correctly named and tagged with metadata.
The sounds have several performances of different metal objects interacting with dry ice, including things such as a fork, magazine, knife , hammer, and more! For the bowed cymbal there you can find different cymbals bowed using different times and all kind of performances, giving you more flexibility when choosing sounds. The quality and mastering is perfect. You can download 96kHz and 196kHz versions of the library, so you can feel free to tweak and process them having really cool results.
Conclusion
Chuck can’t start better with this new project. The library contains great and useful sound sources, all with excellent quality, affordable price and instant download… The future is now!
Congratulations to Chuck! Looking forward to the next release.
