Surprises

“There’s no excuse for having a mental or creative block in sound. You can just go out and collect things in the real world – they make the sound, not you. It’s very restricting to always use a library for sound effects. It’s much more interesting and freeing to go out and record new sounds because you never know what you’re going to get.”

  1. Great Words!
    This is my credo.

But, unfortunately, I think there is already a generation of “sound designers” who work only with sound libraries. And they can create hollywood quality effects in one hour. While you are walking outdoor, searching and recording unique sounds.

    Sound libraries must be eliminated!

  2. Golden Quote.

Of course it is bit difficult to avoid libraries completely. But if some one truly follows as per your advice, certainly one can experience different kind of Sound fx environment . I think it is difficult task to create or record all sound fx for a complete film.
