Hey Dan, thanks for the really thoughtful reply, I’m glad the article (if you can call it that) connected with you. I also ran into trouble wanting to vent myself out of this headspace; even to close friends who were willing to listen, it’s a pretty uncomfortable and unattractive topic to spend a lot of time in, because there aren’t really any answers out but acceptance of the way of things and gratitude for the things we have in front of us. I was keen to try to reason it out regardless though.

Those are great mantras you’ve got. The first and last are especially comforting. If the motivations that creep up after a release take you straight to music, that’s awesome! Mine usually lead me straight to friends and family and reconnecting in all the small, personal ways that remind me of what life is mine and mine alone.

Really good to hear your thoughts it has refreshed my perception on people and having this type of mind set can be depressing and frustrating (I hear you). It may be a little out there but I like to recharge from the grind by remembering that capitalism is just an idea and not an absolute strategy. The persistent judgement from others comes from fear not evil and my effort to be a decent human comes from me and not insecurities of not fitting in. For me pulling myself out of the chaos (mentally) reminds me of what matters and is real and what is not, this release of pressure usually renders motivation which is always (mostly) used for musical purposes. Oh and games movies, , forest trips and space/physics documentaries.

I can dig it. I mean to get out to a forest near me before the summer’s over! Great tip!

Recharging with games and personal music projects have been what I gravitate towards. Given my occupation this is still pretty close to what causes depletion in the first place. I am on the lookout for other things to help juice myself back up. Messing with Arduino/electronics has been a recent diversion and money-sink I hope to get back to.
