We do tend to get caught up in the big ticket items, but the accessories make a difference. As they saying goes, the best recorder is the one you have, and good accessories mean you’re more likely to HAVE a recorder around.
(This is also the case in post production, where plug ins, DAWs, and interfaces are upgraded but not the speakers and amps)
