Hi Daan, I think you’re right! Thanks to the Chachalaca waking me up in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere, never having heard that sound before, I became a sound hunter.
Referring to Wikipedia, it says “No hay cacao”, which was absolutely a true fact in that location.
