Hi Todd, really glad to hear you enjoyed the read. It’s hard to convey a good attitude at times during interviews as they can be the most unnatural way to get to know someone. “no, no i’ve never thrown coffee at anyone I worked with, never murdered any babies, and I’m a true pleasure to ummm be around, I swear.” (drips of sweat run down face).

But usually people can sense it, and seems they did with you as well. :)

I think you nailed it on the head when you mentioned being humble. My first AAA audio gig was for a racing title and I was straight with them that I didn’t know much about cars but my audio background was solid. I learned later on that I was chosen over another who had pretty extensive knowledge of cars based on the fact that they thought I had a better personality. (Little did they know!) :)

Keep writing great articles!

Hi Jason, that’s an interesting idea! Yes I haven’t put non-sound work on my resume in a long time, but I’m always trying to figure out how to show the length of my experience (about 3 years) while still show-casing the best (more recent) projects. I also waver between highlighting the position, the company, or the project first.

ie.
Dialog Editor
> Maple Syrup Sound
>> Sky Punks

Thanks by the way, I’m looking forward to your next bit of writing!

All The Best,
Harri
