It’s just like using one sound to modulating or shaping your sound. It’s able to do something you can never imagine before. For example, what the sound will be if put your head into a small bulb. It’s another world of sound! You can easily try the explore in Logic. I did something years ago http://digimonksound.com/DigimonkSoundLab/Blog/Entries/2011/2/9_Warp_the_Air_-_Channel-strips_pack_for_Logic_9.html. The pack is for free and just for having fun.

I tend to be a bit of a purist when it comes to sound design, trying to mainly find real world elements to create my sonic textures and fx, however I can see these types of sounds used in video games or other multimedia scenarios. While listening to the whoosh sfx with the IR’s applied I kept imagining them being used as menu navigation sfx for a video game and how perfect they would be for that.

Anyways, thanks for the inspiration.
