I disagree with that statement in the article. It is exactly the opposite technology is not keeping up with our imaginations. I have built many pieces of software because they don’t exist and I need them. What many of us artists would like to create is not possible without new tools .. so technology is not keeping up. Those with capital do not invest in what is best for the creative they invest in only those things that increase the bottom line. Technology only proceeds where the dollar leads not where the imagination would like to take us.
