Wonderful topic and article. Sound Designers should always consider the audience’s relation and preconceived feelings towards certain sounds. In fact, it’s a wonderful asset to have. Music shares this but the harmonic and melodic language differs from culture to culture. Pure sounds meanwhile I believe are more universal in their connotation. What sounds cute, scary, happy? These are more universal and evolutionary traits from shared experiences. Can’t wait to read more.
