I also have a pair of (black) suede gloves that are nice and quiet.

On set I usually don’t have a problem but when recording ADR in a silent studio there’s some amount of handling noise, creaking hands sometimes. Thanks!

I know now to keep lots of spares just in-case.

Certain fabrics make a ton of noise when rubbed together. So, make sure you check the sound of your clothes before you head out to record. I generally wear jeans for most sutff and jogging pants or shorts when doing footsteps. I also wear (black) t-shirts and a hooded sweat shirt that I know is nice and quiet. I learned the hard way about the leather jacket. Again, there are no absolutes, just better choices.
I hope this helps! Ric

Could you elaborate on #9 a little more? What sort of clothes have you found to be the most “quiet”? Is there a certain collection of things you’d consider “standard” gear?

I assume things like sweat pants and black t-shirts would be par for the course for you, but what about shoes? gloves? hats? coats?
