But not as painful as yours
(at leats for me):

Some time ago I recorded some street ambience in a city.
When suddenly (while recording) a car hit a pole at the side of the road only 30 feet away. (Nobody was injured)
As I pressed the stop button I got an error message: “File Error”

Nothing was writen to the SD Card.

By: Mathias Grunwaldt https://designingsound.org/2011/01/28/tim-walston-special-the-accidental-recordist/#comment-2118 Fri, 28 Jan 2011 23:18:11 +0000 https://designingsound.org/?p=8002#comment-2118 Great article – I love the inclusion of the failed recordings, and the insight into what life can be like as a sound recordist :) It’s funny how you always involuntarily draw the attention of passer-bys…just because you’re standing there with headphones, and a weird looking thing that looks a bit like a microphone, people come up to you, point at the mic, then your headphones, and say “Are you recording this?” with a big grin, right on cue to ruin a perfectly good ring of the church bells that you wanted…I always resort to punching people in the stomach who do this…they usually get it first time. Can’t do that with the in-laws of course!
