For example a pre-2010 Sound Devices 744T has a parallel SATA hard drive and not the current standard of a eSATA hard drive. Older recorders, and again this is the case with the 744T will need memory cards in FAT32 format which current Windows operating systems (Windows 7 and 10) no longer provide as a format option.
