@ Mike Alles you can achieve the wipes on screen for cueing using a program called Streamers. We use it for Foley and ADR cueing.

Here is the link: http://figure53.com/streamers/

As a rerecording Mixer I also do Foley recording at a smaller scale for german TV feature film.
Let me ask you a technical question: How do realise the yellow wipes that cues you in ? I also use Pro Tools for Video Playback and audio recording.

Good luck & many more good ideas for great convincing sounds
Mike

It is a bit disingenuous however to portray him as the SOLO foley artist on the stage. MOST , if not all “A” teams, are just that, teams. I have found in my career ( spanning thirty years and over 400 films ) that a partner is indispensable. An excellent mixer also rounds out the team and allows the highest level of creativity to be achieved. Just thought I would set the record
straight.

One thing though. Are those horse sounds, and the flying car “whoosh” through the air, for real?
I have the deepest respect for foley artists, and Gary Hecker, and the work they do, but this just made me laugh hard.
