Especially enjoyed Johnathan’s quote: “hanging with my friends whom I am closer with than many of the people in my extended family.” I’ve met some of his extended family. Just saw one today ironically enough. Keep up the great work all!

Miguel, you’ve got a nice interview on how the soundscapes (or sound design) of How To Train Your Dragon was achieved. As for the movie How To Train Your Dragon, it is my second all-time favorite movie, after James Cameron’s AVATAR (which is my all-time favorite) and before my third all-time favorite movie, the 1999 hour-long Dexter’s Laboratory Made-For-TV Special-cum-movie, Dexter’s Laboratory: Ego Trip (which is based on my all-time favorite TV show, Dexter’s Lab). And I think it’s cool to talk with Randy Thom, Jonathon Null, and Al Nelson, about the sound design of How To Train Your Dragon, which is personally one of my top three favorite movies of all time (alongside James Cameron’s AVATAR and Dexter’s Laboratory: Ego Trip, which is an hour-long TV movie on Cartoon Network).

It was nonetheless a lovely score (though I’m sorry that last year’s animated ‘The Book of Kells,’ set in historical Ireland with Irish accents and Irish music, didn’t get more coverage, as far as Celtic scores). For more on this movie’s sound – even if Randy Thom didn’t need another nomination this year – see Designing Sound’s interview. […]
