I’ll keep the Q and A’s rolling along as consistently as I can.

As a production mixer I always like to hear what goes on in editing because as stated, the edit happens usually long after the last shot is in the can. Whenever I can, I try and supply sfx and other sounds that would be difficult to find in post.
I also try and keep consistent tracks, recording methods etc and it is nice to hear the editor appreciating the practice.
And it is PRACTICE, there are no textbook answers. Every single project is on the job training. Directors should try and have editors lined up in PRE like everything else and keep the “dialogue” open!
