What approaches or methods have you tried?
Some of the source material sounds like it could have come from a synth plugin but it is the techniques in creating and processing specific elements that is almost more important. For example if I watch/listen to this short clip,
I hear a few dozen different ui & gesture sounds – some are specific short ui sounds, other are movement/gesture related, each is likely created via different means – some sound like simple synth beeps processed, others like soft wooshes, one sounded backwards, some dialogue fragments, some data streams…. And they have been processed and mixed/eq’d to match the action, point of view, scale, role etc… Some pan with camera or element movement, some doppler… Whoever created them would have spent a lot of time experimenting, creating versions, trying them individually and in a scene, following the action.
I would reccomend loading the audio from a scene from the film that you are specifically referencing, and break it down, element by element. Focus on just one of the ui or gesture sounds, and analyse it. What is its harmonic content? whats it sound like at half speed? backwards? By using your ears & your imagination you will get clues as to what might work to make such sounds. Some of those sounds feel like they have been spectrally processed eg granular processing, or a resonator or even vocoding…
